I visited a "Dream Factory" in Cambridge that puts the boomer guys into the car they ALWAYS dreamed of, right down to the minute detail. Running of the Brides
Hundreds of brides to be, accompanied by "teams" of frenetic dress seekers, cleared the racks of Filene's Basement of 1700 dresses in minutes. It was Run for the Brides, an annual one day ritual started in Boston by Filene's decades ago featuring wedding dresses at huge discounts. Will Howard, host of MCTV's Man About Town covered the event of his daughter and her team seeking the perfect dress.
Skydiving in Ridgley
Sky Dive Maryland is one of the Mid Atlantic's top places to sky dive and it's only 20 minutes from Easton just across the Caroline County line. I went over with my two daughters and son to pay back a promise I made to them 20 years ago to take them sky diving when I turned 62. We share our experiences. Click to play the video.
Tuckahoe Steam and Gas Show
In 1973, a group of enthusiastic people with various occupations and backgrounds united to promote their interest in collecting and restoring antique agricultural equipment. This group would be known as the Tuckahoe Steam and Gas Association. There were 79 charter members, eight of them youth members. There are now more than 250 active members and 400 associate members. Nandua Seafood - Shore Tradition Crab Picking
For more than a hundred years the craft of crab picking has passed from family member to family member. This tradition has changed. We found out there was one left on the Eastern Shore and witnessed three generations of charming ladies singing classic hymns as they swiftly separated shell from meat.
Frederick Douglass visits Wye House
Wye House is the Eastern Shore's most historic address. Owned by the Lloyd family since the 1600s a house was erected in 1790. It was also the home of Frederick Douglas as a slave. The farm is now home to the 13th generation now the Tilghmans. A recreation of an event which occurred 125 years ago recently took place as Statesman Frederick Douglas recreated brilliantly by Reenactor Charles Everett Pace, returned to the property as a freeman. He considered the Lloyds as part of his family. We went along as well. This event was magnificently planned and executed by members of the St. Michales Museum in St. Michales, MD as a fund raiser for their facility in St. Marys Square. Holy Smoke, Maryland State Bar-B-Q Contest
Easton was the site for the Holy Smoke Maryland State Championship recently. This first of a series attracted 29 professional chefs certified by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Contestant brought their equipment to a field behind Target setting up the night before. Dozens of certified Judges tasted and scored chicken and beef items. The event included bands and carnival rides. It was sponsored by Easton Church of God.

Life Saving Program in Talbot
Talbot County had the first public/private defibrillator program in a small community in the world! The County and Talbot Paramedics Foundation were recognized by the International Association of Fire Chiefs in 2001. This video looks at how it all started, and the life saving results.

Easton Market Square
Developer Lahr Jackson explains Easton newest market place, located directly across from Talbot Town. Lahr, who worked with Easton native and internationally known developer Jim Rouse for 20 years, uses his talent to bring together existing buildings and add a European flair. Lahr is no stranger to developing markets. He has to his credit developing and building Faneuil Hall in Boston, Union Station in Washington DC and Grand Central Station in New York City among many others.

Chick-fil-a has a huge following like no other restaurant chain. We found that out at the opening of Easton's first Chick-fil-a and also got a behind the scenes look at their high tech stainless steel kitchen, and recipes. Click on to get a look for yourself.
Eye in the Sky
Talbot Environmentalist and Aerial photographer Hunter Harris regularly flys over Talbot Waterways shooting estates. He also uses his lens to capture evidence on polluters and emails them to state and federal authorities. Howard along with a local waterman and NOAA scientist review several photos in this half hour segment.
Oxford Class of 1850
Author Jay Bunting lives a few doors down from the "Academy House," part of the military academy of Maryland in the 1800s. Jay, also being a Civil War historian studied the lives of the graduating class of 33 cadets in 1850 and found some great stories. Graduates, mostly from aristocratic families ( a lot of Talbot County names today) divided during the Civil War. One dressed up as a woman and hijacked a steam boat which he used for the Confederates. Many are famous in their own right. Take a look here at some of the highligts of his book "Oxford Class of 1850."

Terrorist Turns Christian
A former terrorist spoke at a private outreach for Executive Ministries of the Eastern Shore in Easton on May 18, 2010. The event was banned from downtown Easton as a security threat bringing many federal and other security agencies to guard against a 62 million dollar contract on his life in an isolated location outside of town. He grew up a Muslim and elite member of a well known terrorist group, was captured by the Israelis and eventually agreed to spy for them. He saved many lives. He became a Christian, wrote a tell-all book and moved to the United States. Here's his story.
Bob Burris and his story
Bob Burris, President of Burris Logistics was a self driven man. At the age of 28 he earned a million dollars on his own and sought to double that soon there after. His life changed when he met his wife. Hear his story told at the 27th annual Easton, MD Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.
Scossa Restaurant
We stopped by to see Giancarlo Tondin, chef and owner of Scossa Restaurant in Easton. He showed us how to prepare one of his favorite dishes. Giancarlo was born in Trento, Italy near the Alps of Northern Italy. He began his career in 1982 at the legendary Harry’s Bar Restaurant in Venice; which has been owned and operated by the renowned Cipriani family for three generations. Today, Harry's Bar is ranked as one of the ten best restaurants in the world. In 1985, Giancarlo was reassigned to assist with the opening of Cipriani’s first restaurant in New York City. Since then, he has assisted with the expansion of eight additional Cipriani locations. Of the eight locations, the most renowned was the Rainbow by Cipriani, (The Rainbow Room). Giancarlo consulted with Arrigo Cipriani in writing The Harry’s Bar Cookbook, which won the James Beard Foundation Award in 1992. He has also been a guest chef several times for the James Beard Foundation.
